Who We Are

Open Multiple URLs ("we", "us", "our") provides a Chrome extension that helps you open multiple URLs at once (the "Extension"). This policy explains what data the Extension processes and how it is handled. If you have any questions, contact us at openmultipleurls.app@gmail.com.

Summary

Data We Process (Locally)

URLs you enter or import. When you type, paste, or import .txt/.csv files, the Extension processes those URLs locally to open them as tabs. If you proceed to open them, the list is saved to a local "History" entry so you can reopen or copy it later.

History of URL lists. The Extension stores a chronological history of the URL lists you opened (timestamp + list of URLs) in chrome.storage.local. You can clear all history from Settings at any time.

Configuration settings. We store local-only settings such as delay between opening tabs, whether to open in a new window, tab grouping options (title/color), and appearance (auto/light/dark). Some builds may also include options like HTTPS normalization or deduplication.

“Add open tabs”. On your explicit action, the Extension reads the URLs of the tabs in the current Chrome window and inserts them into the input area. No page content is read, and nothing is sent anywhere. These URLs are only saved to History if you choose to open them.

“Add links from page”. On your explicit action, the Extension injects a small script into the active tab to extract anchor hrefs (HTTP/HTTPS links) and place them into the input area. The script does not read arbitrary page content beyond link addresses. Links are saved to History only if you then open them.

Files you import (TXT/CSV) and exports. If you import a .txt or .csv file, it is read locally by the browser; the Extension does not upload files. You may export your current list to a .txt file locally at any time. When you press the Copy button in the toolbar, the current list is written to your clipboard. This happens locally only and nothing is transmitted anywhere.

What We Do Not Collect

Permissions We Request and Why

storage — To save your local settings and History (URL lists) in chrome.storage.local.

tabs / tabGroups — To open multiple tabs and (optionally) group them under a title/color you choose.

sidePanel — To show the Extension’s interface in the Chrome side panel.

scripting — To run the user-initiated "Add links from page" script on the active tab to collect HTTP/HTTPS links.

Host permissions: http://*/* and https://*/* — Required to open the URLs you provide, to extract links from the active page when you ask us to, and to read the URLs of your open tabs — but only when you explicitly use the Add open tabs feature. The Extension does not read full page content or your browsing history.

Install Behavior

On first install, the Extension may open a welcome or information page in a new tab. No personal data is collected during this step.

Data Retention and Your Control

Legal Basis (EEA/UK)

We process your data (locally) as necessary to provide the Extension’s functionality (performance of a contract) and our legitimate interests in maintaining secure, useful tools. Where consent is required by law (e.g., to run a feature you trigger), we rely on your explicit action.

Your Rights

Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal data. To exercise your rights, contact us at openmultipleurls.app@gmail.com. Because we do not run servers or keep centralized copies, we may ask you to use built-in controls (e.g., Clear History) to complete certain requests.

Children’s Privacy

The Extension is intended for users 16+ and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided data via the Extension, please contact us and uninstall the Extension from the device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
